seafrontanne replied: "Try Post.com they have lots of information on that website,Good-luck."

chai22 replied: "Try the property section for houses on bahtsold.com"

gerimar replied: "Check this site you could also explore location using the free earth viewer"

Sompong replied: "Prices for any homes online will be expensive properties. Please follow my advice, you need to go to Hat Yai and look around. Bring Thai friend with you who can look for signs of homes for sale. Lots of Thai's don't use the internet. Just a sign in from of the home."

How much is train/coach ride from Singapore to Hat Yai Thailand via Khota Bahru.? Please indicate fare and travel time pleeeeeeaaaaase.

tankahn replied: "Kota Bahru is right at the edge of Thailand border. Its called Sungei Golok. Its a cowboy town and there is an ongoing terrorists murders and bombing going on. Cross the border, fold 3-5 ringgit worth in your passport and hand it over to the Thai Immigration guy (let just say its for orphan kids). There is a bunch of motorcycle taxis there. Again it is a racket but hop on anyway. Ask the taxi rider to take you to the minivan station. The vans leave for Hatyai once there is enough passengers. Say a little prayer or carry a large medallion of St. Christopher next to your heart in case someone spray a burst of gunfire. You can try the train. But its a frequent target for terrorists attacks. Pity. I used to enjoy visiting there."

KGP replied: "Your direction is way off . You take a Bus from Singapore to Hatyai direct via BKH ( Bukit Kayu Hitam ) which is north of malaysia Kota Bahru is North east direction ! ( and plagued with terrorist activity in Golok ). Prices are for example @ There are buses from Singapore to KB ( Kota Bahru) .Thenyou cross over to Golok and take a train from Golok to Hatyai but the route is far and dangerous in Golok "

is muslim food avaible in hat yai, thailand? we are going to hat yai for vacation n one of my fren is muslim n i was wondering is it possible to get halal food in hat yai?anyone know any good muslim food restaurant?

denisezuriel replied: "Actually, it is known in Islam that if there aren't any halal food available, Muslims still can consume meat (except pork)... just say "Bismillah" before eating is good enough... God can't be that bad..."

DesmondT replied: "Hat yai is in the southern part of Thailand, & most of the people there are muslims. So i guess you can find many Halal food there. Just a reminder, Southern Thailand is kinda uneasy now, so careful."

x_ill replied: "Yeah, there are quite a few places there. Songkhla is where most of the muslims live in Thailand. There are quite a few hawker stands that are good to go, as well as restaurants. I took one of my friends there on my last visit, and he said that quite a few of the places that were halal(written in arabic, which he speaks and I do not). The beach I mentioned in my other post, Samila Beach, is almost solely mulsim populated, and the north end of the beach has tons of good restaurants, and a really nice open air muslim market on the weekends. When all else fails there are lots of GREAT vegetarian joints in Hat Yai. I spent two weeks there with my arab friend, well in around there, and we never had trouble finding places to eat. We'd either eat at mulsim restaurants, places that served only seafood, or vegetarian joints. There are also a few hindu restaurants, that while they are not halal(in regards to slaughter) they do not serve beef or pork. The seafood is sooooo good there, you can probably live on that for a lifetime :) Short answer? Yes, there are plenty of places to eat. If you look on the map in the other post right around Niyomrat Road and Niphat Uthit 1 Road(west of the Sakura) there are quite a few Muslim restaurants. As a side note: "=*=" below has no idea of what halal means. Simply not having pork in the meal is not good enough for a devout muslim. Not only can pork not have touched any surface or utensil that will come in contact with your food, but there is a very specific way to slaughter animals for them to be considered halal. With this in mind "any restaurant" will not suffice for a devout muslim."

nowhereman_716 replied: "yes"

fishead replied: "There's are also plenty of Muslim frendly brothels there just look out for the water pipes"

peanutz replied: "You can find halal food joints easily in Hatyai. There are quite a number of Muslims staying there, so will not be an issue. You will find that food in general in Thailand is pretty food, so step into any restaurant for an enjoyable meal."

=*= replied: "actuary you can tell the restaurant everywhere in thailand (not only in the south) that you or one of your friend is muslim, please cook with out pork. thai people will just do it as you order. they are very easy to live with. (after all, your muslim friend might feel sorry for the thing that some of the freaky muslim in the southern thailand has been doing to the easygoing thais in the name of Islam for more than 5 years till now.) and don't forget to smile a lot."

shayanid replied: "Of course! Hat Yai is in Southern Thailand where most Thai muslims live. You'll find plenty of muslim restaurants in the downtown area. There are something like 5-6 well-decorated (and hopefully with yummy food) muslim restaurants which are opposite to Central Department Store and Lee Garden Plaza Hotel."

nancy replied: "Halal (halah) food is available all over Thailand; not just in the south. "
